The supercar that we are going to talk about today is unique in its kind. The history of the Jaguar XJ220 dates back to the end of the 1980s, from an attractive and fascinating prototype to the definitive development of a historic supercar of which only 281 units would be manufactured. Throughout the development of this machine, the role of Tom Walkinshaw Racing was essential to put a machine of this caliber on the street and solve the incidents that arose during the design phase. One of the most important decisions would be to give up the V12 and opt for a more "sustainable" 3.5-liter V6 doubly turbocharged with two separate Garrett T3.

Given the role of TWR in the development of this machine, it is not surprising that they reserved the right to build nine special units, three of them for competition, the XJ220C, five for street and a later adaptation also for street. The latter would be called Jaguar XJ220S and this is specifically the case of the sports car in the photographs that accompany this article.

TWR's obsession was with saving weight, most of the original aluminum body panels were replaced with carbon fiber, aerodynamics were refined with a front splitter and a large adjustable rear spoiler.
