why is the pivot joint for the key so close to the end of the key?
When I test with the joint in the middle, the hammer on the key (i'm not really a piano engineer so i don't know many of the parts' names) doesn't hit the mechanism on top, and even when it does, there's only a very tiny movement, not enough to cause the hammer (the hammer that hits the string) to fling out. If I move the joint farther right before the white part of the key, the hammer (string) starts to move out and hits the string, but not always. (And when it does hit, it probably won't hit it in time before the damper moves back in.) But when I move it a bit farther, it starts to hit it more often and before the damper moves back in. Maybe if the pivot joint is in the middle, I can still have the same action by changing the length of the hammer (on the key).
