The smalles phz i can imagine (an empty one) needs 9521 Bit. This will need a BIG storage wheel. But if someone wants to try, here will you get the binary data:

You could convert 8 bits into hexadecimal code and then use it as ascii or ansi, to store text, and eventualy print it in a square

i'm currently working on an 8-bit-array, but i'm new in thyme. I think i will open a Thread in the Forum to make this work.

How about using 7 Circles on 7 Collision planes and power a 7-segment display with it? that way, you could save text on such a wheel

maybe you should use colors for byte storing, rather than bit you can store 4 bytes per circle!!

so instead of 50 bits, you can have 50*8*4 = 16kbytes

make the circle bigger, and add more plates, and you've got 640k. that's ought to be enough for everyone.

awsome you need to make it bigger though and boost the speed!

@petrock5 : speed boost is not good. phun in default checks for collisions only 100 times per second. the fastest he could do would be 100 storage units per second(detail = it must be perfectly aligned to work). that would mean 2 spins to that 50 bit storage per second. so the max he could do with it would be 120 RPM in perfectly aligned, same position per frame position(this includes writing, reading(mechanical form reader would be useless), and erasing.)

@link0007: I am the founder of the Phun Computer Project (PCP) and I have created a analog/digital converter for 4bytes color information. This works!

@petrock5: 40 RPM is the maximum speed if we process data with an output frequency of 33,333Hz. This freuency is the output frequency of the smallest logic gate which you can create in phun using the standard 100Hz simulation frequency. 60RPM are possible if we use only digital logic gates (output: 50Hz). Formula: RPM=OutputFrequency * 60s/min / NumberOfCircles

You should make a disc reader for this.
