I basically tried to make an AN94. The lack of documentation on it is really weird, considering that everyone knows it. I know that some Russian guys make the animated .swf of this gun, but I'm not going to buy it to make an Algobox scene!

As a placeholder I added a hook that allows the mechanism to go back into place and chamber a round. I have no idea how the real stop mechanism is. This is all that I could devise from the demo video on Youtube (screenies are from there)

Tap or hold W to fire. It should be used in 2 round bursts so if you hold it it might jam, dunno

and yeah, it should have a gas locking mechanism. It had one. For some reason it had even more rate of fire but was prone to jamming (rounds would jump)
I slowed the sim speed to 0.1 so that I could view the mechanism in slow-mo. Holy cow! A floating barrel! And when the bolt moved into battery, the entire mechanism, including the breach and the barrel, move forward! I've never seen anything like that before. Those Russians are either smart or weird! LOL (sorry, kilinich).

Good job, The Linkage!

The weirdest part of the rifle is the loading shuttle, which is the part that somewhat chambers a round while the other one is getting ejected. It uses a pulley in real life. A pulley on a firearm...

Explanation of why:
The AN94 is designed this way to be armor-piercing. You could say that the receiver + barrel are free-floating (carrier), while the body of the gun itself is disconnected from it (the body is the "reaction envelope"). The receiver, bolt, load shuttle, pulley and barrel are able to slide backwards. There's a spring calibrated to allow the gun to fire two shots before the firing assembly touches the back of the reaction envelope. This allows for firing 1 bullet WITHOUT ANY RECOIL, so the second bullet will get fired completely aligned with the first, and the pulley and shuttle system allow for around 1800 RPM on a 2 shot burst. So you basically shoot two rounds that will hit roughly on the same spot, and the recoil will hit after the second round is fired
In full auto mode it simply waits until the carrier returns to its resting position so it fires at 600 RPM

In this case there is some recoil, but I think that calibrating weights and moving the springs will fix that some. Maybe I can improve the fire rate a bit too.

That IS very weird! :o
This is 10/10! Amazeing
Then at least rate it, lol
Neat. You need to fix the magazine, it flys out the top when nothings in there.
Great work! if I get some time for this, I might give you a few pointers on how it works. The trigger's fairly simple, but it's timing that needs all the TLC.
Good, I'd like some help on it. I've been tuning the timing to make the reaction envelope actually mean something, but I've only upped the firerate...

I have no idea how the trigger group works:P
omg, when larry vickers said that he once saw an an94 jam and it took "three men and a boy" to clear, i get what he means now. i had a double feed that very quickly turned into a triple and quad feed jam
