Another hour or two of tweaking and my bizarre ground-tracking hover thing works much more smoothly than before. Accelerates a bit faster, tops out at a rational speed, stops faster, falls more quickly, and the ground-tracking mechanism is more sensitive, has a lighter touch, reaches further, and is less prone to failure. The piston will sometimes get knocked out of its track if you land hard and fast on the blocks though.

Arrow keys to drive, down does nothing, up to retract the ground tracking mechanism and fly. If it drifts side to side significantly without any user input, restart. Not all of the springs always work.
