Been playing around with this for awhile. Basically a rebuild of http://www.algodoo.com/algobox/details.php?id=125753 but in 0g and using the simple laser scripts provided by carl00s01 and Xray. The script just pushes in a rod 3cm if it's contacted something, and the rest is done mechanically.

1/9th the size, doesn't seem to break at >100Hz at all

Follows food particles. While not shown in the scenario it prioritises down>left>right>up
The 2nd laser is for detecting walls, so if both lasers are triggered it blocks movement to that space

Eh, I kinda burned out on this one so I figured I'd upload what I had. Has a bunch of redundant/half completed stuff in it but it works in a limited way

Holy cow, Ravenplucker! I don't know how you can make such complex mechanisms with Algodoo! I have tried many times to make things that are one tenth as complex as this mechanical creature, and failed. That's why I rely so heavily on Thyme script for most of my own scenes. I'm very impressed.

Carl00s01, that's a good idea. When I look back over my scenes (including the ones I deleted because they were so terrible:P) you can kindof trace the tech development. Reminds me of an RTS game. I'll try figure out some video editing software.

Bluebusters, most of the stuff in this bot is rod logic, which you can read about here http://www.halfbakedmaker.org/blog/58. Like in the top right quarter of the bot you can see all those circles and squares on rods, which are driven by springs held back by cams. It's hard to get used to thinking like that, but you can make some pretty complex behaviour. It'd be too hard to teach all of it, but try exploring it for yourself and see how you go:P

Hell, I don't know. Probably somewhere between 20-25 hours or something. Far too long in any case.

With all the time I've spent messing around in Algodoo I could probably have learned Russian by now
