you guys blow me away with all this scripting!! i cant compete!! lol how/where can i learn it? any tutorials online??
Check out the Algodoo Forum under the heading of Thyme Scripting. There are lots of posts from other users and lots of tutorials. That's how everyone learns to script because that's all that's available.
cool, ill check it out
Interesting effect. I think this is the first 3D bouncing ball in Algobox.
Thanks s_noonan! I did make a couple of other 3D bouncing ball scenes but they were not quite as nice as this one. :*)
Nice scene. Maybe you should change the behavior so that, instead of alterning between towards the screen and towards ground, it has an actual "depth velocity" that accellerates it towards the background. Then also use tangent formulas in order to get the actual radius depending on the distance to the "camera" so that we get a realistic size change on the screen. I covered all of that in my Curveball scene once, so have a look at it if you like.
Great suggestions, FRA32! I had thought about that a lot because I knew that the sudden changes in direction were not natural, but I wasn't quite sure how the math should work in order to fix it. I'm not anywhere near the math wiz that you are! ;)

Please go ahead and modify this scene in any manner that you would like to and then post it as a scene response. I would like to see how it behaves after a real expert fixes it!
I propably wont upload a response scene. I have given up on algobox months ago, seeing how its old glory completely shattered and succumbed to the lower age. I am also busy with school works and other things anyways, so algodoo isnt a part of my freetime anymore. I only look every couple days or weeks if someone I subscribed to uploaded something, but it ends there. Not even the popular page is worth looking at anymore.
The way that I cope with it, is I just ignore the children and toddlers. Because of my responsibility as Admin I still have to keep an eye on them to make sure that they don't do anything that's too horrible, but for the most part I just look for the technical scenes, and I occasionally will upload a scene of my own. I refuse to allow the little rug rats to ruin my enjoyment of Algobox.

Emanuel from Algoryx keeps telling me that he's working on improving the website, but unfortunately his free time to do that is very limited, and so it may continue to be a long time before we see anything new.

I certainly hope that, in the not-too-distant-future, I'll see the day when you and other technical people who left Algobox because of the takeover by the children, will be back to upload more awesome scenes!

Take care during your hiatus!
Mind oficily BLOWN!
folk should rate the worthwhile scenes so they get in the popular chart? i cant even rate!:( ive asked about and people say theres a rate button!! but nothing on my screen!
Do you use the Algodoo built-in browser? If so, you will be much happier if you would instead use a standard web browser for Algobox!
This is a responce to your message to me:
While yes, I understand your problem with uploading blank scenes, but this one was made to be like mars. With percise stats, and such. I even added color too it to do so. So, unlike "Dairy preset" this is a MARS preset. It's a preset for a different planet. To be honest there should be built in planet presets to algodoo by default. With gravity and air accounted for to accuritly represent whatever planet your doing. Such as mars, the moon, IO, Don't you see why I uploaded that blank scene? To let people who want to build on mars BUILD ON MARS without having to do a bunch of research to exact gravity relative to earth, and mathing it all out to algodoo standards. Along with the atmosphere.
Also, Check out the speed graph of the ball... I love how it sometimes looks like stairs, other times it looks like a skyline xD
Sorry, MoBuilds. No blank scenes. If you want to post a Mars landscape, then add some Martian land, mountains, rocks, etc. Make it interesting. Maybe even add a moving star field. Just a suggestion.
Very nice!:tup::angel:
 superb.
