It's here... :) Meerkoos' take on the famous MP40 sub-machine gun! This one took three weeks to make and is a whopping 1000 objects. Excellent hardware is required, as the full-auto will operate more reliably with fast machines.

Here are the features of the model:

-Authentic, realistically shaded and detailed Meerkoos skin with serial markings and safety "S". The MP40 depicted is a 1943 model, with two-piece bolt-handle, ribbed magazine housing, uniform magazine catch, and jet-black bakelite furniture and barrel rest.

-True open-bolt, fixed firing pin blowback operation (no striker), paired with the strongest sear I have ever made.

-Authentic internals (move skin back to check them out!)

-Fast firing rate (around 450 RPM max)

-3D bolt handle! Check it out by slipping it into the safety notch.

-Telescopic recoil spring housing (just like the real thing)

-Detachable, realistic capacity magazine.

-Underfolding wire stock with independent shoulder-plate.

-Adjustable rear sight.

-Free recoil system for realistic kick and feel (including the signature open-bolt "tack")

-And of course, all-keyboard controlled.

Please note that the skin is "migration" prone, meaning that all skin components have a tendency to drift around (side-effect of large scale and Algodoo itself), try to ignore minute imperfections in the skin.

Also, the "less-lag" mode is unreliable, exacerbating the objects' drifting. It may even affect internal parts and jam the gun up. Only use it if you are desperate.

Finally, the gun itself is (like most of my creations) not 100% reliable and precarious. I tried my very best balancing the snappiness with performance. Although 1200 Hz was extremely tempting, I "limited" myself to a "mere" 610 Hz. If the MP40 stove-pipes, misfeeds or just explodes, either reload the scene or yank the bolt back a few times. The jam-clearing extractor will do its job.

Enjoy!! Please rate and comment below...

UPDATE V1.1:

-Increased and stabilised fire rate
-Improved single-shot capability exponentially
-Moved the gun to center point
-Edited some skin overlapping

cool
Well I can't see it right now but every time that I found that "migration" thing, it was because I was on a huge pos (VERY far from the center). You might want to check that
Amazing job! Works very well.
Effectively :/ try moving the gun to [0,0]
beautiful work dude. Love the realism
