kutis, that had crossed my mind, but my goal was making it without any scripts (besides the water gen) or other special stuff. basically, running solely off the pressure of the water and normal gravity.
you can feel free to use/upload one with stuff like that if you want though.
i'm currently experimenting with using 2 cylinders offset a bit to prevent the wheel from going the wrong way when starting or traveling slowly, and a much smaller water holding area with more water being generated in it to have greater pressure with less water.
the front wheels on the front car keep popping off for me.
plus....the first person ends up bounding up and down on the lap of the 2nd person, like they are having a *very* good time
you can reduce the water seen on screen and thus the lag without effecting the power by reducing the size of the large open center area that the water is generated in.
it always seems to happen the same way, the boom bounces a few times, then flies into pieces, throwing everything around. if i delete the boom from it, then the outriggers will be seen flying down and causing the truck to go into the air.
having a spinning disk with gravity following its orientation is pretty much the same as not having any gravity at all because as the gravity direction changes, it cancels itself out.
i am no where near as experienced as many others on here, but wouldn't just adding a 3rd collision to the balls have easily solved the issue?
gears collision A
paddles and wheel collision B
purple track collision C
balls collision A, B, and C
nothing that overlaps shares the same collision mode so no conflicts.
it is a very nice bucket wheel excavator
i downloaded it and modded it so the balls are sent back to the front of the scene. never ending loop of balls to dig up
but i personally wouldn't real call it 'working like real' as the steam itself is not moving the cylinder, a script is generating stuff in the cylinder like in all the combustion engines that are on the site.
I'm here. Been busy with real life work (my work week is sun-wed) so haven't really had time to reply.
Thanks for the comments everybody
I'm really glad that you like it. I've been visiting the site a lot over the past years and have been seeing more and more marble things that often didn't work or looked real cheesy (no offense meant to any creators). I remember long ago proper marble mazes/machines were pretty common but I guess as the community grew and a lot of new users came around, the quality has gone down simply due to lack of experience.
I've been tossing around ideas in my head for another marble machine. Nothing decided on yet though.
