Thank you
As I said it is some sort of clone from java`s engine, but with the variable ignition. With some tweaking, and perhaps a variable valve, this thing can go even faster.
If anyone wants to adjust or use parts of this engine, please do
No problem, select the hinge motors of the small black circle at the left bottom, and the circle on the black at the fuel entrance that moves the red vertical bar and change their key assignments in whatever you like
it`s controllable with numpad (?) Or do you mean more trottle settings?
it can run around 300 rad/s, thats the max. After that it`ll lead it`s own way up to 500 rad/sec (and then goes airborne )
edit : (tnx for rating )
edit2: of course you can also change the attraction of the 4 red blocks to your likings
Would be possible, but I`going to build a bigger one now, still with algodoo (i like the lasers very much ). Try and get some money together for algodoo, the extra`s are worth the money IMO
Iirc this wasn`t possible when Kilinich made his stabilizer, but since we are now able to read the angles from geometries directly, there is no more need for complicated scripts to achieve things like this.
I found that the difficult handling of the UFO actually suits the game pretty well. It makes it much more challenging, and it gives you a good feeling when you picked up a circle perfectly.
Very nice engine, runs very well! It is a bit heavy though, maybe there is a way to make it a bit lighter? 9/10
Can anyone tell me how those hinge connections are made, so that 2 circles have the same angular velocity without using a shaft? I`m very curious how it works, I haven`t figured it out yet. Thanks in advance
Hey Xray! Thank you for your comment. It's been 7 years already? Jeez
For anyone wondering, in the middle just below the station there is a box covering all the info. Just delete it and you can kinda see how this thing works.
The left column controls the speed of the trains. It has the current speed, desired speed and the motorspeed.
The middle column controls the station. Top 2 are the switches for station entry and exit. The stoc variables set the occupation of any station track, including which train is stopped there. Strel controls the release out of the station, together with sttim, which is a timer to hold the last train coming into the station. Stbrk is only for stopping the trains.
The right column is for the signals and the bottom switches. They use the triggers hidden under the track. Mainly there because it looks cool, they don't really serve a purpose.
Thanks again for your comment, I'll keep it in mind when building my next thingey
I think there is room for improvement though. The max rpm of the engine is hold back by the flywheel hinge. If you go into the scripting menu of the hinge and set legacyMode = 0, the engine can rev much higher. But this will screw up the pistons so it'll need some coding to change the timeToLive of the spawning circles. You might want to let it adjust itself when the engine revs higher. Something like timeToLive = x (-enginerpm / x) might work.
