Yes the noise is incredible look it up on youtube. It makes sense being able to run it on anything but exhaust temperatures and fuel consumption was the main problem. There was a bit of lag on initial acceleration just like there is turbo lag on some turbo engines but this could probably be corrected with modern materials. They should try it again
