Amen! The Swiss do it right. If I understand it correctly, every able-bodied male citizen MUST join the Swiss Army at a certain age, and they MUST keep their weapons with them, even at home so that they are always armed. It's too bad that we have so many anti-gun liberal wimps running our country. If it were completely up to them, the citizens of the U.S. would be forcefully disarmed, and if that were to happen, then only criminals would be armed. :tdown:

How? You failed to explain how the scene works.
chemist - Thanks for your comment. I don't see how calculating the average would give any better results. I clearly show that sim.frequency affects postStep, and it does not affect update, which is the only result that I was concerned with. Before doing this benchmark test, I wasn't sure how the two properties differed in how they handle the timing of script, and now I do.
No problem! Thanks....
It goes until either you or Algodoo reaches 21 points. Thanks ngphil!
What is this scene about? It doesn't seem to do anything. :huh:
Interesting concept. But I have one question: What is a snow-plow from Venango Regional Airport (Pennsylvania) doing plowing snow in New York? Did the driver get lost? :lol:
ngphil -- Thanks for your comments. That's the beauty of Thyme script. It gives the user more tools to do some things in Algodoo that would be very difficult or impossible to do with only mechanics.

I think that what you described should be fairly easy to do in script. So, go ahead and post the weapon, and in your description, explain the details of what you would like it to do, and I will see if I can make it happen.

Concerning my demo scene, it's only purpose is to make users aware of the differences in script execution rates between postStep and update. That way, if they run into timing issues in their scenes, this information could possibly help them realize a resolution either by running their code in a different location, and/or adjusting the sim.frequency.
Just a thought about snow removal. I've had an idea for many years for dealing with snow accumulation, but everyone I've told my idea to, thought that I was nuts. Well, I just might be nuts, but that's beside the point. My idea is to set up a large array of high power microwave generators all around a city. The microwaves would be transmitted straight up toward the clouds during a snow storm. Each microwave dish would have a hole at its central point, and a large hose or pipe would run from the hole in the dish to a central pumping station where the water would be pumped to holding tanks or a reservoir. The microwave generators would melt the snowflakes as they fell, turning them into rain which would be collected to be used later for drinking water.

Brilliant, huh? :tup:
Say what you need help with. Be specific.
This does not seem to work. When I press R key, nothing happens.
No lag problems here. Maybe your computer is slow?
It might help some people understand what's going on if you would explain what this scene is demonstrating, and what effect the arrow keys have on it.

EDIT: EXCELLENT!:tup:

I pressed R and released it. I didn't know that it had to he held down while drawing the polygon. Now it works for me. THANKS!

Just so it doesn't confuse other dummies like me, it might be good to mention that the R key must be pressed and held down while drawing the polygon. :lol:

VZstrikez08 -- WDIKRM?
Like, I'm so sure... TOTALLY! Gag me with a fork. Like DUH. Like thanks Dude!
Good scene! :tup:
I don't understand why the forum is laggy, and Algobox is not laggy. That doesn't make sense. But the bottom line is, if you cannot use the forum, then you cannot make polls.
Please explain what this scene is about. Are you simply making a copy of a polygon? Do you know why the copy has distortion?

Thanks!
Yes, I know about moving the mouse, I just didn't know about holding down the R key. Thanks again!
You forced the thing to knock the ball in his own thing? Wow, I never would have thought of that! :lol:
I'm looking forward to your next scene! :)
kacper kern 50 -- Thanks!

s_noonan -- Good eye! I'll fix those things as time permits. Thanks!

Edit: FIXED

WOW! Absolutely AMAZING! 10+
Interesting, and nicely done! :tup:
The "timeToLive" value in those fractal images is only 0.100! That's why they disappear so quickly.
Excellent demonstration on the importance of the keystone! :tup:
Nice job! My only suggestion is to disable the clouds. They are not necessary for this scene, and they can be a distraction. Thanks!

:tup:
This will fix it:

text = {
"Score: " + {
sim.bodyCount < 238 ? math.toint((237 - sim.bodyCount) * 1000.0 / 136.0) : 0
}
}
If you use "Generate geometry from texture" it will remove the box from the shadow, and then only the shadow (which becomes a polygon) will remain.
