Only that little word "Air" is affected when I turn the air friction on and off, but nothing else in the scene seems to work. The arrow keys have no effect.
I just moved the gear closer to the worm, and that seemed to eliminate the backlash. Now, I'll sign-off on it!
Good demo.
More -- I like how you made the steel shaft look as though it's actually turning. The effect is more stunning when you zoom in on it. (Please excuse my use of double prepositions)
Hi Natasha,
Welcome to Algobox! Your scene is certainly interesting and unusual!
By the way, in case you didn't know this, most people do not use their real name in forums and other similar type websites, in order to maintain their privacy. They typically use a screen name that is indicative of either their hobby, or something or someone who they admire (like a game character, etc). My screen name is Xray, and I use that because in real life I repair X-ray equipment. I am one of the Algodoo Admins who try to keep the peace on the two websites (this one and the Algodoo forum).
The tires sort of jump around and change shape as the car is moving, but I found that they can be made more stable by increasing the sim frequency to 120 Hz.
This is not a glitch or a bug. Axles (also called hinges) will pull apart when stressed beyond certain limits. Some people actually exploit this feature in their scenes!
I had no idea what this was until I Googled it. It's an E-cig (electronic cigarette) that produces a vapor you inhale. It's not something that I would ever use, but it's probably much better for you and for the environment than real cigarettes are.
A Lucas - That's strange. I don't know why you see something different, unless it might have something to do with the type of browser you use. I use Internet Explorer version 10. What is your browser?
EDIT - I just realized that you might be accessing Algobox from the built-in browser within the Algodoo program! If you go directly to the Algobox website through your regular internet browser, then you should see the same thing that I see. Could that be what happened?
Um... What good is that? Algodoo is a physics simulation program. You are supposed to make scenes that do things with the program running! If you want to draw pictures, then use MS Paint or some other type of program.
