This is a great idea, but you should explain how to use it (instead of simply saying "To use it go to right"). That does not explain how to use it!
Here's what you need to explain:
1. What needs to be entered in the console?
2. Show some real examples of using it, and how to enter the script.
3. Explain how this can be useful to other scripters.
DyraneX -- Your scenes are unusually complex and math-intensive for someone who is new to Algodoo! There have been barely a handful of people over the many years that I have been using Algobox (about ten years) who have the knowledge and skills to create the kind of scenes that you have been posting lately. Did you previously log in here with a different user account? (Don't worry, I won't ban you. You are too valuable to us!)
@UnityDogGaming04 -- No worries about sharing links in comments. We are much more lenient about chatting in comments as long as obvious Rules are considered. For example, we do not allow profanity, bullying, and those sorts of things in comments. Just please do not malign Algobox too much!
Oh, BTW, DyraneX.... Just to let you know, when I make suggestions for a scene, you are not obligated to do them. In other words, you can ignore my suggestions or just tell me that you don't want to do them! As Admin, I try to watch over things to make sure people don't abuse the Rules, but I will never try to force a person to alter their scene. It's totally up to you!
@DyraneX -- I had a feeling you were Danidanijr but I could not prove it. Your recent scenes as user DyraneX are so different from your older scenes in 2017. That's why I was not able to put the two usernames together as the same person. Good job on hiding your identity!!!
Don't worry about getting banned. As long as you continue from this point on, not breaking the rules, then you will be Okay.
Explain to your mom that Algodoo is not a "game". It is a physics simulation app that teaches people about physics, math, and science in general. I think she will be impressed!
Oh, by the way, I know what a "Demon Core" is. It's a real thing that was developed during World War 2, and it actually killed some people. Anyone can Google it and find information about it. Here is a link to it:DEMON CORE
TheAmazingGuy704 -- It's kinda like learning a foreign language. You need to start by learning the basics. Then make a few simple scenes of your own with Thyme Script. Then when you learn more advanced techniques, you will be able to make more complex and impressive scenes. Anyone can learn it but it takes time and dedication. I don't know how old you are, but if you are very young (less than about 12 or 13 years old), then learning how to script will be very difficult. Maybe you have an older friend or family member who can help you along with learning it. Other than that, it's the best advice I can give you for now.
I discovered I could make it move by repeatedly using just the green leg to repel itself off the floor. So, it's kind of like a one-leg person kicking hard and fast to make himself move! After a few meters I gave up when it started translating in the opposite direction!
I think it's because the digital calendar was not set by the first test user, and so it just displayed a bogus starting date. Why 1970? I have no idea. Maybe it was someone's birthday, or maybe it was the date when Algoryx was founded.
42flowermaster -- No lima beans... This scene is gory but it doesn't violate any rules. There are plenty of more gory scenes in the Algodoo archive even worse than this one.
His message in the description that reads "Not for kids" only causes kids to want to open it and see it! Notices like that one have the opposite effect, but again, it does not violate the rules.
Before today I knew virtually nothing about kinematics, and now, because of this scene, I'm an expert (well, almost). I also discovered that "centrode" and "centroid" are two different things.
Thanks for all of your excellent scenes, s_noonan. I'm smarter because of them.
MyNameIsThis -- Many Algobox users are rude children who never learned common courtesy from their parents. That's why they act the way they do. Just ignore them unless they violate the rules, then report them.
Erikfassett -- Forcing a scene to Run, and then freeze the pan and zoom automatically after downloading is frowned upon by most experienced users because it makes it difficult for us to reverse-engineer the scene. Algobox is much more than entertainment. It is also educational because people learn about coding, math, and physics by observing how others constructed their scenes.
Here is a script that I often use which ensures that the scene is in Play Mode when running, but then automatically returns to Edit Mode when Paused.
In any object "upDate" event, add the following script: app.gui.playMode = sim.running
Also, remove your script that forces RUN mode.
The user will then be able to start and stop the scene, and even look "under the hood" if he/she wants to learn how the scene was constructed.
Overall you did an excellent job on the scene. This level of coding is usually only done by very experienced Algodoo enthusiasts who have been at it for many years!
Made this comment because I can and might use it today.
I followed your instructions, and after I clicked RUN, the orange circle began rolling to the right of the scene and it continued to pick up speed until it was way outside the scene. Is it supposed to do that?
It's a cool-looking effect, but his movements are very random and uncoordinated. I cannot make him swing his swords in any kind of controlled fashion. The player acts like he is totally wasted!
