Oh, I forgot to mention about a small technical detail that I noticed in how the animal walks. Most four-legged predators have a gait in which the right-front and left-rear legs move somewhat together. And it's the same for the left-front and right-rear legs. In your scene, both of the lion's right legs (front and rear) move together, and his left legs do the same. That is not a natural movement because it would cause the animal to rock side-to-side as his weight shifts from left to right and back again. Take a look at a dog that user mori-d created, and you will see a correct gait for a quadruped animal: mori-d's dog
I'm not suggesting that you make changes to this current scene, especially if it would require a lot of changes, but it would be something to keep in mind for future scenes.
There is another mistake: The word "The" (actually, both of them) should not be capitalized because it is not the first word in the sentence. I wonder how many other people caught that one!
ALSO, the word "Mistake" should not be capitalized! (I almost missed that one)
Wait, are you asking about mistakes in the scene description, or mistakes in the SCENE? If the scene, then there are a whole bunch of mistakes!
Good job! But I have a couple of suggestions for you to consider:
1. Disable the clouds. It just doesn't make sense to have clouds floating by in a scene that teaches a technical subject.
2. The ratchet will fall into the gear teeth more smoothly if you uncheck the "Brake" checkbox in the axle, and then make the Restitution "0" (zero) on both the ratchet and the gear. Try it and you will see what I mean!
I think the reason why no one signed up for your marble camp is because everyone is just plain tired of the same old BFDI, and BFMK, and Algicocathlon, and this camp and that camp and all the other camps that we see here every day. Why not do something NEW and DIFFERENT? Hey, now there's a thought!
s_noonan - I, too, did a search for similar scenes. The coding is so obvious and so simple that I'm surprised no one else has done such a scene before. It may just be due to the fact that cutting out the individual parts of the picture is very tedious.
I used to drink a lot back during my younger days when I was in the U.S. Navy. Now I know better. Haven't had an alcoholic drink in over 20 years, and I don't miss it at all.
I'm not judging, just telling a story and expressing my opinion (I do that a lot! )
As a suggestion, I think it would be a more complete tutorial if you could also show the light source and the rotating shutter, as used in a film projector. Maybe even show a few frames of a sample movie or cartoon which demonstrates how the image is projected onto a screen and how each frame is broken up by the shutter in order to reduce the flickering effect.
The only way is through the Private Message feature of the Forum. The Algodoo forum uses a separate log-in, which can be different or the same as your Algobox log-in. Once you are logged-in to the forum, you click on your "control panel", and then in the control panel, you click on "Private message". You need to know the FORUM user name of the person you want to chat with because, as I said before, it may be different from his/her Algobox user name. The Private Message system is like Email. That is, you have to send your message and then wait until the other person responds.
There are some anonymous Email accounts that you can get for free if you want to do it that way. Contestants can then submit their responses to you through that Email account. I wish that Algobox had a better system that allows users to contact each other, but it doesn't and as far as I know, it will never be upgraded with new features.
Here is a link to one of those free Email websites: http://www.mailinator.com/
FL01 - No problem. I did a search on Google Images for "coloring book pictures". Getting the pictures is the easy part. Cutting them up with the cut tool is the hard part! Very tedious.
You old account "Mr Aidan" has been banned, but since you forgot your password, you cannot use it anyways.
If down the road you happen to remember your old password and want the account back, let me know and I will ban this new one before giving back your old one. Fair enough?
