looks like the fail reason is a desynchro. you might try multiple motors linked by somethning which allows rotation only if both are well aligned.

nah. you could just reduce the red circles motors' speed, and set autobrake on them.

i made another scene with another firing mechanism, with the bullets style ripped off from paradigm29/RaRaMalum.

try to use a spring and a killer, just like this mechanism.
this way you can make it to be much more reliable.

i highly doubt a APC can have a machinegun, missiles, a working hook(nearly useless in combat, unless its used to move something like a broken vehicle), a suspension system, and all this stuff. (space , weight and cost issues)
