I don't know if there is a symbol for XOR, but you can probably make it with a combination of AND's and OR's

It is much simpler to just write: {quit}

By the way, there are a TON of other scenes in the Algobox archive that do the same thing. That is, Algodoo closes when the user clicks on a button, so this is nothing new in case you thought it was.

Shocked? Naw... Nothing shocks me here on Algobox. Either a scene is crap, good, fair, awesome, or should be deleted. They usually fall into one of those categories, but they are never shocking.

Do you really believe that you can motivate the marble race children by uploading a few examples of quality scenes? I hate to burst your bubble but kids these days are just damn lazy, and there isn't much that will motivate them.

zaydenm - Just so you know, writing "Credit to Xray" or "Credit to (whoever you copied the scene from), does not make it Okay to use another person's work! You first have to ask permission if it's Okay for you to use their scene or parts of their scene. Then if they give you permission, they might want you to give them credit in the scene description. That's when you write "Credit to whomever". If they do not give you permission, then you'd better not copy and upload their scene because it might cause complaining, reporting, and/or bad feelings.

Other people may have given you wrong advice about copying other people's scenes, but what I tell you here is the correct way to do it.

Oh, by the way, I give you permission to use parts of my "Rotating Dots Illusion" scene.

I remember my son doing this when he was young, but rather than melting the entire soldier, he would melt individual cavities all over the surface. He told me they were bullet holes!

OK, I won't.

One time, a red one dropped into the yellow bin because the boards got all bunched up at the beginning. It happened only once when I ran the scene five times, but if you care about perfecting it, the mechanism might need a little work to prevent that bunching from happening. Except for that, it works fairly well.


EDIT: The very next time I ran the scene after posting the above comment, an orange board ended up in the green bin! The same problem was caused by bunching of the boards at the beginning.

All of the spawned circle's attributes (such as events and variables) must have a colon before the equal sign, like this:

It's the same with all other spawned geometries, such as boxes and polygons.

Always use := when defining events and variables for geometries.

Until just recently, people NEVER posted a message to tell everyone that they will be gone from Algobox for some period of time. You, Ultragamer564, posted your message as if it is extremely important that everyone knows that you will be gone. Whether you think so or not, Algobox does not exist for Ultragamer564. The world does not revolve around YOU. You are a nobody who thinks that his presence here on Algobox is important for everyone who makes marble races. Sarcastic? Well, maybe. I just wanted to impress upon you that you are NOT important. In fact, you are still considered a newbie here. There are people, like myself, who have been here on Algobox for many years, and we do not post messages to others when we take vacations, or will be gone from Algobox for any reason. We do not consider ourselves to be "important".

@pnvv - I hope you do build a toroidal engine because they are so impressive to watch their mechanical action! It's beyond my comprehension how they can actually work and generate power. I'm guessing that it will be a huge undertaking for you because of the complexity of all the mechanical components, but when you are finished, it will be a very impressive scene to be sure!

The first time I ran the scene after you fixed it, one of the small red boards got jammed at the input section to the rollers. The leading edge of the board rotated up and got stuck against that angled gray structure that's at the end of the conveyor.

YES! It works great now. I ran it a number of times and it never failed. GOOD JOB!

My user name in the forum is the same as here on Algobox (I assume that's what you mean by my "account nick"). So, you can send me a PM if you want to.

It works well, but I have a suggestion which holds true with ALL scenes: Turn off the grid and the clouds unless they are necessary for the scene (they are distracting). That is something that a lot of people don't bother to do when they make a scene. Either they don't know how to turn them off, or they simply don't know that they can be turned off!

Except for that minor detail, good job on the sorter!

Oh, that is terrible news, Sam. I am so sorry for your loss. When my older brother died in a car crash a few years ago, I asked the same question, WHY? But as I grew older I realized that life is not fair, and bad things sometimes happen to good people. We cannot understand why those things happen but they do happen, and we just have to deal with it and then move on. I'm sure that your dad would want you to become a great person and to do good things, especially for other people. It's okay to cry and to be sad when someone we love is gone from our lives, but when the crying and sadness are finally over, then do the best that you can to help other people who need your help. If you do that, then I'm sure that your dad would be happy and proud of you in Heaven!

Concerning your abusive mom, you really need to get some help, Sam. I don't know where you live, but here in the U.S.A., we have laws that protect children from abusive parents, and there are people in organizations who's job it is to protect abused kids. They may have to come to your house and take you into protective custody, but if that doesn't happen, your life could be in danger if your mom is totally out of control. Please get help before it's too late!

I was wondering if his mom was abusive while his dad was alive. And if she was, then I would ask what he did to prevent it. I think you might be right, faytree. Something doesn't seem right about the things that he said, and now I am questioning it.
