So I was thinking about my previous attempt at making an airfoil without script, and I thought it might be better to use a fluid, as opposed to a solid, to simulate airflow. Although the wing doesn't lift as high as it did before, I think it is a more accurate representation of an airfoil.

And by the way, Happy New Year to all of you! :)

EDIT: For those who are skeptical, even if you cut off part of the underside of the wing to make it flat on the bottom, you will see that it will lift at least a noticeable amount.

in that one the main reason is the angle of attack, not the water itself
Try cutting off part of the underside to make the wing flat on the bottom - it will lift a tiny bit.
and we all know that it lifts because the 'air' has to go farther over the top than the bottom so there is higher pressure under the bottom forcing it up
not only on the angle of the bottom
DUH :bonk:
RA2lover apparently doesnt understand why they work

the liquid does provide a more realistic feel to the scene
@sheepborg
ummm no...
thats how a REAL AIRfoil works
slow down the scene and watch the water, there is nothing to force the water against the foil i.e. there is no pressure systems, RA2lover is right

Edit to below: That's what I ment (Your explination describes a real airfoil)

Edit: see scene #35758

did i not suggest that is how real ones work...?
this one isnt exactly perfect because there is not constsnt pressure around it so either way it matters not

@Chaos24, there is no way at this moment to simulate a real airfoil in Algodoo. This is the closest we have gotten.
I didn't say you can simulate a real airfoil. Air is far to laggy to accurately simulate (in realtime) as is true water.
