Many of you guys are probably too young to have used a record player (sometimes called a "Phonograph").

When the audio circuitry (amplifier) is located externally, then the mechanism that rotates the record is called a "turntable". Some turntables are automatic, and can play a number of records, one after the other. This scene is of a manual turntable, which can play only one record at a time.

I tried to make it as realistic as possible, including a slight wobble that some low-quality or poorly handled or stored records had.

wild bill - Thanks! Yes, I too recall the scratching and hissing of the old 78rpm records. Those were the "good?" ol' days. :lol:

bugsbunny - I looked through your comments to other scenes, and you seem to have some trouble making them work. Maybe you have a slow or outdated computer, or maybe you are using an older version of Algodoo? By the way, I love your cartoons!

I'm only 13 and we have a turntable at our house, but it is really expensive and we don't like to use it lol.

The one time I went to goodwill and found a big fat record player. However its needle was broken, so I took the plastic card in my pocket and set it on top of a groove instead. I turned the table, and viola! the quietest concert ever!
I've always wanted a record player... *sigh*
