No, it's not an exact replica. It's very different from an Archer. But I tried to make something that would look and work like the archer, and it ended up pretty well.
It's fully automated, firing single shells or all the shells in the magazine, depending on how long you push the firing button. The shell flies roughly 30km when fired at 45 degrees of angle, at a velocity of around 750 m/s. The shells explode on impact, causing everything in the vicinity to be blown away. This can be seen when firing at the brick wall that's a few hundred meters from the gun. I removed the collision from the cabin, because I'm too lazy to make it unable to fire unless pointed above it.
Note:
The frequency of the scene should be 500, and there's a switch that automatically makes it so when the simulation is started. If it fails to reset it when you press [P], you can write "scene.sim.frequency = 100" in the console to restore it.
This scene might run slow on a lot of computers. Sorry for the inconvenience, I hope that you enjoy it anyway.
Edited:
*The wheels have higher friction, making moving around easier.
*The gun is raised slightly when the barrel is elevated, to allow for a higher firing angle (up to a little over 45 degrees).
*The weight of the cabin has been increased.
*A shell had been fixed into the magazine, making the gun unable to fire more than 3 shots. This has been fixed. |
