This is a gravity equilibrator combined with a Roberval balance. The counterforce will be the same wherever the weight is placed on the blue lift arm. Gravity is turned off to show how uniform the lift force is. Turn gravity on to see the effect of the weight of the mechanism on force uniformity. The metal block is perfectly balanced when placed on the blue arm with the mechanism in the horizontal position and motor torque can be reduced from 1000 to 10 Nm. Counterforce amount can be changed by changing the spring constant.
