Control the sim (Pause and Run) simply by moving the slider with the MOVE TOOL!

Notes: You cannot control the sim with the usual controls (spacebar or green arrow). You MUST use the Move Tool. The Grab Tool will not work!

Update: Simplified the code, and selected the "Move Tool" during scene spawning.
Update: Animation speed is proportional to the distance from X0 (s_noonan's suggestion).
Update: Homer is now an animated gif instead of a rolling texture.

This can be made analog with the image going faster the further it is from zero. I'm not sure what the function of the long vertical appendage is.
LOL, that vertical appendage was an accident, but I thought it looked kinda cool so I just left it that way! It serves no useful purpose.

You: "This can be made analog with the image going faster the further it is from zero."
Me: Great idea! I may do that.
Of course, it won't actually be analog, so I guess you can call it a digital analog simulator! :x
s_noonan: I tried doing that analog thing as you suggested, but it didn't work quite right. The texture did increase in speed the further away from zero I moved it, but it was really erratic while moving it. I thought about adding PID compensation but that would take a lot of time and effort for such a minor feature. So, it will stay as-is unless you would like to give it a try. You can go ahead and build off of this scene, or maybe make your own.

EDIT: Ignore the comment above because I finally made it work, and the math was extremely simple. :)

Looking good.
Thank you!
Nice improvement. I didn't know gifs supported transparency. That makes it easy. Just find a transparent animated gif and extract the images. My only recommendation would be to use a higher resolution animated gif next time.

P.S. If you ever need to convert a png to a transparent png, I find that Windows Paint 3D works well when you use the Magic Select tool.
I use PaintShop Pro. It's sort of a poor-man's version of PhotoShop. It does a great job of creating transparent backgrounds.
I found the animation pictures
Okay, good job. You won the grand prize!

What's the grand prize you ask? For the entire Summer, you get to mow my lawn, pull weeds, and wash my truck every day. Oh, and my wife says you can wash dirty dishes every day during that time period too. Hooray! You're a lucky dude!

Hey finns.... Have you been sniffing glue again?
hey xray how can
make a texture rotate himself? is for a planet orbit
carmaker -- It depends on HOW you want the texture to rotate. In any case it requires knowledge and experience with Thyme Script. If you don't know how to code with Thyme Script then it would be very difficult or impossible for you. It's not a simple thing to do.
