Slider Increase Rate Control
A box beside a slider value that allows you to enter a value that said slider will increase per second, along side that box could possibly be another to set the maximum that it may increase to, or a minimum if it is decreasing.
Example. Motor speed is 600 RPM, I enter a value of 4.5 into the Increase Rate box and my 600 RPM will then increase by 4.5 RPM per second.

Yeah but then it will increase forever, never stopping. How about theres a limit too?

not a good use of the algoryx team's time. there are lots of better suggestions than this. Plus, karate's right. If it can be scripted easily, It doesn't need to be implemented right away.

Prehaps you should read the entire post..

And may I point out; Not everybody is good at scripting and so many people don't even want to get started with it for fear of being overwhelmed. If it is more user friendly then it becomes more popular for the layman.

so you take "thymer" out of your signature...
Anyway, can you think of one way your suggestion is physically realistic?

Physically realistic? Could you tell me how the "Motor" in Algodoo is physically realistic? It has no mass, it requires no power input, it just puts out energy. A controller to change rate for a motor in Agodoo would be no different than a variac to change the voltage to an electric motor. Imagine it as being electronic, you'd be adjusting voltage to raise the motor's RPM by turning the dial on the varaic, it's as physically realistic as you want to be. The only part that is not physically realistic is that, once again, it would have no mass or physical shape, like the motor, but rather mere value that slowly increases until it reaches a limit. All tho, that may not qualify in your world either, because now there is nobody there to turn the dial on this variac, now is there? It's automatic, but then again you could argue about the motor that puts out free energy, so it's no different.
If you'd like to go about realism, go and argue about infinite motor force, or perhaps negative spring damping, or the ability to break light speed with a brick.
It was just a suggestion so people did not have to incrementally raise values, because I'll tell you, it can be a real pain.

Exactly how much is it needed? It's not a bad idea, but it might cause menu clutter.

Yeah, it's more clutter than it's worth. Bad idea IMO. lrn2script
Made some cool stuff a long time ago

yep. also, remember, motor's RPM are measured in radians/second, not Revolutions per minute, when using script menu. also, in algodoo, radians are the default angle measures.

But I've never been there, so I may be wrong.
