Re: Updated K-Probe
It's very cool.
Normally you run into trouble by just taking a laser and do calculations with acceleration because there is a lot of jitter. i wonder how you did this without editing the laser but anyway having nearly no jittering at 100% simulation speed.

It's all about time delta you calculate. Strangely thing - minimum quant of time on 100% sim speed can be 0.01, 0.02 and even 0.03 sec sometime.
Then you calculate speed you pick time delta = sim.time - <prev sim.time>.
Then you calculate acceleration you must mention that speed is average in [prev sim.time .. sim.time] range so you should use time delta = (prev time delta + time delta) /2.
Dream of Algodoo as game development engine...

Yeah I know it's not very precise with the time. Sometimes it was even 0,0s when I tested it. I find it strange but if you lower the simulation speed it's getting more imprecise due to the laser frequency is constant. My solution was to quarter the frequency but you know, slower rate of updating.
To use an average time delta is pretty neat, I love it

Still don't know how it works, still dont'know where and how i can use it, but it is nice
