Phun scenes in Algodoo

Postby Endre! » Wed Sep 16, 2009 2:21 pm

I just wonder why scenes made in phun laggs in Algodoo and NOT in phun?
And is it possible to do something that will open Phun-made scenes with Phun and Algodoo made scenes in algodoo?

We do not ensure 100% compatibility of old Phun-made scenes into Algodoo, simply because we improved and changed so many things in the simulation engine. However, recent ones should work (i.e. made in Algodoo Phun Edition).

Incompatibility shouldn't lead to lag though, and I'm not sure why your scene lags. Could you upload it to Algobox, or here in the forum so that we can test it?

Most of the "Phun" scenes i download and play with Algodoo lags, but i think i solved the problem :)
Somehow it was running at 900Hz instead of 100Hz. Dont know why

900 Hz - reallY?! Hmm, we have to look into this. Can someone verify that this can be repeated?

Fortunately, I have fourteen (14!!) different versions of Algodoo and Phun installed on my laptop, including one with flying guitars in the background (Emil loves guitars, and so do I, but we agreed clouds would be a little less confusing for most users...).

I've got a possible answer right here:

I worked long and hard on this but since algodoo doesn't like phun springs i guess work stops here. I am very proud of this even though its not even close to being done by my standards. Its quite reliable and can fire well in full automatic fire.
pull the trigger or press F to fire.
IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT
MUST BE RUN AT 900 HZ
to get this press ~ (the character next to 1) then type
sim.frequency = 900

(with spaces before and after the =)
i hope you guys like it even in its unfinished state

That would make sense, if i remember right that setting doesn't automaticly reset?

Also actually, i was wondering can we get an option to save algodoo files as phun compatible?

just the simpler scenes i've made it would be nice if spring settings would be okay once opened in phun if im sending it to a friend who doesnt really play the game so wouldn't get algodoo, for example.

Just change the clouds to guitars.
Millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. Something terrible has happened.
