Re: re-name objects
but if you close the window the title reverts back to box etc..?
i need to be able to open and close the windows on material, plot velocity etc... they take up a lot of space so i only want the ones i want open at the time i want them.
is there not a way to rename an object so that the name appears when these windows open?

Re: re-name objects
There is no way to rename a object, and for the name to save, it just isn't implemented.
Just minimise the menus and throw them to the side, thats all you can do.

I see that you did not get your question answered, so here it is:
You can create a local variable that you will see each time you open the script menu. You do not need to use it for anything else except for identification. For example, you can name a circle _FAST_CIRCLE or _CIRCLE23 or _GEORGE or anything else. Just be sure that the underscore character is always the first character of the name. If you do not use the underscore character, then the name will not be saved the next time you launch Algodoo. When creating a variable name, you need to give it an initial value, or at least indicate the TYPE of variable. For example _GEORGE:= "" will show the name _GEORGE, and you declared it as a text variable. For your purpose, it doesn't matter how you declare it because you are only concerned with using the name to identify each geometry.
Also, as far as I know (someone may want to correct me if I'm wrong) once you declare a local variable, the name cannot be deleted or edited.
Hope this helps!
