[SOLVED] Stuck to a maximum angular velocity of 157 rad/s

Postby PhunWars » Wed Mar 07, 2012 12:56 am

If I have a spring engine that used to run at 300 rad/s now it runs at maximum 157 rad/s. If I create a circle adding a center axle and setting it to 3000 rpm it spins at maximum 157 rad/s. Why is it happening ? I'm using algodoo 2.0.0 (yes, I set legacy mode = 0)

You can increase frequency and/or set allowDirectSolve = false for all connected objects.

probably not in the near future, the last moment when i heard of it was before algodoo2 i think, after that i didn't hear anything about it. Maybe it was too cpu intensive and was it left to die.
Basically, there are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who know binary, and those who don't.

Hmm seems to be another problem: I made a V8 spring engine, max angular speed: 200 rad/s, BUT in fourth and fifth gear guess what ? Its angular speed is limited to 105 rad/s because gearbox's angular velocity is stuck to 157.080 rad/s. EVERY hinge has the allowdirectsolve value set to FALSE, and it still doesn't work...any solution ?

Bring down the console (F10) and type in:
Sim.frequency = 200
And voila, twice the angular velocity!

Haha well yes but I do all my scenes (except one) at 100 hz because some user may have a slow pc...

See Sim.limitAngVel

This is due to limits with the solver, as has been discussed elsewhere. Increasing Sim.limitAngVel may lead to instabilities.
