Release OLD source code?

Postby cdh473 » Sat Sep 26, 2009 5:50 am

I was wondering if Emil/Algoryx could release the source for an older version of PHUN not Algodoo, like maybe Phun beta 3 or something...
4.22 maybe? idk, just wondering :P

Oh, and are you guys still paying for the old site?
Please excuse my posts. I am extremely stupid.

Great idea, but they won't do it. End of story.

Actually apparently they are going to release the source code when Emil publishes his thesis...

Well originally on the FAQ page they said they were going to release the source code when Emil's thesis was published. Still, even the source code for Phun 1.0 would be great.

I don't see the use for it.. The complexity isn't in the code, it's in the physics. And the code is useless if you don't understand the physics already. So it would be a pretty useless piece of code ;)

So if you want to learn stuff about physics engines, build your own!

Yeah, but I have the programming skills of a smart gorilla. Seriously, I barely know HTML and Thyme. So that's out for me.

Then what use would the source code be? There are tons of open source physics engines you can abuse for copy/paste purposes.

I don't mean for me. I mean for someone who knows how to program.

I'm sure that there are programmers that understand physics. As for understanding the source shouldn't there be comments in it?

At least there should be a plugin system.
