HELP_Measuring Total Weight of Multiple Objects

Postby Mag8328 » Sun Jul 31, 2011 9:49 pm

I'm trying to make a car with realistic weight, but I can't find out how much the car weighs because weight doesn't show up on the material menu of multiple objects. Because of this, I don't know how much heavier I have to make the car. Is there an accurate way of measuring the weight of multiple objects or do I just need to hand count the weight of 167 objects?

wrong section!

As for your problem, select the opbects, right click, and there should be a infomation sub menu that shows you information about the selected objects.

That should show you the total density!

Sorry about the lag time in between posts, but I'm looking for total mass of multiple objects that overlap and have different densities, like a car. So finding out mass with area and density would be very hard if not impossible.

use a script:

{[density, density - 8, density - 16, 10] / 10}
EDIT: all credit to someone else, srry :oops:

put this in the color menu and different colors show according to density, you only have to recolor afterwards

Basically, there are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who know binary, and those who don't.
Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear bright until they open their mouths.

Thanks, that works, but it doesn't solve my question. Again, I'm looking for total mass, not the density of the individual objects.

Electronicboy pointed you straight to it.
It's in the Information menu, somewhere.

Also, I came up with the color code in monstertje3's post. I don't like seeing my work published by anyone other than me and not credited.
Matthias Wandel is epic, in my humble opinion.

Recently, I discovered something a lot of you probably already knew: Minecraft is awesome.
Due to this, I may not be as active as usual for a while.
