Edge Scrolling!
You know what it is. Putting your mouse on the edge of the screen to pan around, just like in The Sims and other games. I'm tired of dragging the background and using the pan tool. Dragging the background isn't always an option, pan tool is to slow, and zooming in and out with the mouse scroller is annoying. I can't believe anyone suggested this before! Edge scrolling for Algodoo (and an option to turn it on and off incase it annoys some people). You know you want it.

I dream of a massive collab to make an accurate simulator of the evolution of space (id=56341), evolution of beings (id=56522), and chemicals (id=43179), etc. all wrapped into one.

Re: Edge Scrolling!
i believe that edge scrolling would be better vai holding an hotkey,
mainly as it would be alot better if algodoo locked the cursor to its window, otherwise you would just move your mouse out the window by accient...

Or maybe just have the option available only for fullscreen mode?

Re: Edge Scrolling!
You can easily simulate it via thyme with scene.camera.pan and app.mousepos, can't you? I *should* be able to create a phunlet (excuse me, scenelet) that will do the job.
But it may be useful. Maybe a tool option menu for the pan button? What do our devs think?

should easily be possible with a scenelet.
use app.mousepos and system.resolution...
the math is upto you!

Re: Edge Scrolling!
I've found that manipulating the camera position by, say, scene.camera.pan = e.pos results in being kinda jerky. You get double vision of whatever it's following, if it's moving fast enough. Despite the fact that, if scene.camera.pan is updated every frame, it becomes impossible to zoom.
However, it's well known that a simple box inside the group "tracked" will do the same thing, but much more smoothly.

Matthias Wandel is epic, in my humble opinion.

I say that when the scene is paused, you should be able to move the camera with the arrow keys, too, and the WASD keys (though keybinds complicate that one...)

You could get it to work when the scene is running, too, if you attach a couple of hotkeys to it. Maybe Shift Alt Arrows or WSAD? I'd support that.

I support the initial edge scrooling idea with or without hotkey.

Support.

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.
