Or, in in 1.9.xb, drag and drop objects to the scenelet menu, then retrieve them from there in other scene.

I suggested somewhere reinstating the Save Selected thing in the Selection menu, which would open the dialog box, but leaving the drag-onto-the-Scenelet-button.

What's wrong with drag-dropping? in the next version you can rename the scenelets after you've dropped them.

It's just not useful. I don't want to do unnecessary moves. "Selected -> Save as scenlet" is perfect, who need drag'n'drop? :?

I have discovered that drag-dropping will not in fact change the position of anything in the scene.

However, I think it to be more efficient to name the scenelet and such when you create it, not later on.

I would suggest reinstating Expandables and the Save as Scenelet button in the Selection menu, just as stated in my above post. The drag-and-drop thing can still keep its current behavior.

I would also suggest that the Scenelet menu would auto-close when you import something, so if it's small you won't click it five thousand times thinking it didn't do anything because you can barely see the phunlet anyway plus it's completely obscured by the menu.
