Re: Cargo Haulage
FuzzyLogicBrain, then perhaps stop acting like it.
As far as I recall, there was some uncertainty with the 'circle size' issue, as the rules here say Circles or things resembling circles, and the scene says 'Wheels.'
Logically, one would assume this is referring to drive wheels, or a method of transferring energy from the vehicle to the ground, which would most likely be circular or resemble a circle.
It's nice to have people to direct others on questionable issues, but in this case it would be better to have an answer from UnderGround.

Oh but you're the disqualified one ! That's why you behave this way now ! Oh come on, be serious
"Anything that resembles a circle" means that you can't use a massive box as a gear, or something... you can't use a bunch of boxes offset by 3 degrees to get around the circle size limit. So If you have a geom that is larger than the limit, I should be able to delete it and your entry should still work as intended. If I delete it, and the entry is incapable of completing it's duty, then it is disqualified. That's my take on it anyway, and I was not disqualified =)
And Under Ground, you had better score these entries, or at least state when they are due by... you are talking about us working really hard, but you're just sitting in the background. A successful competition needs participation on both ends, please.

Re: Cargo Haulage
I do not see how 'a massive box as a gear' resembles a circle in any way. It's a box.
Your mixing this up with rotation. Just because it's a box that rotates, does not make it resemble a circle in any way. Only that any given vertex will move in a circular fashion around the axis of rotation.
The box is still a box whether it's rotating or not.

Re: Cargo Haulage
The rule is meant to rule out, for instance, if you somehow did manage to make a box function as a gear or a wheel, you are disqualified. I think.
Matthias Wandel is epic, in my humble opinion.

Why don't we all stop trying to prove every other person wrong and wait for the great Under Ground to come around and tell us otherwise. Sound good?

==========================================================
Hey guys, Sorry for the inactivity. I literally have been running around my house for the past week or so, doing various jobs and chores.
Anyway, to business:
About the circle size limit:
It is only valid if the circle (or almost circular object) is connected, or part of, the systems drive train or engine itself.
Unfortunately, This would mean the disqualification of a few really great entries. I am very sorry about this, although in most cases, a simple scale edit is in order. I really want to see these scenes edited so that they can qualify!
Also, as almost nobody stated which category they wanted to enter, I have left it at only one category; The Speed.
Now, to the (Valid) Entries.
Starting with the newest, Ivan's.
PERFORMANCE
Overall speed: 4/10
Overall handling: 7/10
Overall strength: 8/10
Climbing ability: 8/10
COURSE ABILITY
Hills: 23/30
Circle climbing: 17/20
Hill climb: 7/10
FUNCTIONALITY
How many boxes arrived? - 50/50
How many times did it get stuck? - 0/20
How many times did it break? - 0/10
A Overall time of 1:21! Not the most impressive, but your design is certainly original and interesting! It could, however, be a tad faster.
Overall: 81/100
==============================================
Next Up, its Someone Else's valid entry !
PERFORMANCE
Overall speed: 10/10
Overall handling: 2/10
Overall strength: 7/10
Climbing ability: 4/10
COURSE ABILITY
Hills: 23/30
Circle climbing: 9/20
Hill climb: 9/10
FUNCTIONALITY
How many boxes arrived? - 30/50
How many times did it get stuck? - 10/20
How many times did it break? - 5/10
Your time was 1:17, very respectable.
Overall, I will give it a 76/100
Although your design is lovely, I found it almost impossible to handle correctly, and on my first attempt, ended up jumping over all of the obstacles.
============================================
INVALID ENTRIES
Although all of your designs are nice, the following three designs are invalid. They will not be disqualified.
Fuzzylogicbrain : For using scripting (InertniaMultiplier)
ImaPirate: For exceeding the circle size limit
PhunWars : For exceeding the circle size limit.
I hope to see all three of you re-entering with fixed designs!

Again, sorry for my inactivity!

I would say not, as its exterior curve is not a circle or a near circle.

Re: Cargo Haulage
My [second] entry is a bit funny on the handling, the trick is to figure out how to make it stop swinging under the cargo drop zone.
Also, if you ended jumping over everything... Good. That's the whole point.
And if PhunWars used his contraption as a gear or a wheel, would it then count as a circle and be disqualified?

Re: Cargo Haulage
How is +inf scripting in inertia multiplier? Scripting is things happening when things happen, alright, when something extra terrestrial happens when two objects collide, or when a laser hits something. Although I wish it would happen when two laser beams intersect. Isn't it?

Scripting appears to be, by Under Ground's definition, anything that is in the script menu

Anything that is in the script menu NOT foundable in any other place (because in script menu you can modify the color, density, collideset and other things of an object).

Can I use it like this ?
[scene]56401[/scene]
(It's not the same scene) Should be like a transmission to increase the RPM from 100 to x + 100 RPM (depending on the circles of the non-motorized "spinning thing")
