Attractiontype

Postby mattias73 » Wed Jul 13, 2011 2:23 pm

In the scripting menu, there is the variable "attraction type". I remember seeing somewhere how to set the form of attraction, but is there a description of what the different types are? I would like to make short ranged attraction to make condensation possible.

Using the 1.9.7 version

PS. Where is the place to post this question if not here?

it's in interface - if you set attraction new item will be displayed:
linear/quadratic falloff

You mean under Material settings? Yes, there I found it now, I can set the strenght of attraction (only positive it seems) and also the option of quadratic and linear.

But, what does the different types of Attraction in the Script menu mean? Is 1 = linear? 2 = quadratic? I think I answered that question to be "yes" now...

But, could one add a third type of attraction?

Negative attraction can be entered manually as -x value.
And you can discover by yourself which is 1 and 2 ;)

Yep, now solved that. But: Could one add another type of attraction that would fall of even faster than quadratic? Or perhaps some combination that could mimic say wan der waal type of forces?

A follow up question: If one sets the attractionsize for some objects to say +1 and for other objetcts to say -2 and/or -1, how is the attraction/repulsion between the different objects calculated? Adding or multiplying? Seems impossible to emulate coloumbs law with el charged objects for example...
