1.9.5 Suggestions for integrated Algobox.
(1) Showing URL to browse scene/user-page with web-browser (of course clickable one
)

(2) Author search
For example, how to search emilk's scene?
I suggest to add author search in "More search opition".

[Done]
(3) Add comment field to write for user's scenes
Edit: (by tatt61880 on 2011.07.03 09:49)
You can leave comment into scenes after finnishing login.

(4) The way to check scene id (scene number) after downloading
Does anyone have ideas?
(5) Enable to upload scene response.
(6) Enable to rate user scenes.

Hi, Algodoo lovers. Have you read next topic? Featured scenes suggestions
To translators: English.cfg changelog will be useful (even for me).

1 was not put in to keep it simple, but might be needed.
2 was planned but forgotten.
3 will appear if you are logged in (if I understand you correctly). Try uploading a scene, if you are not logged in, you will be asked to do so. A login and logout button has been planned.
4 can be seen in the name of the scene in the downloads folder. But might I ask why a user should have to bother with scene IDs?
5 was not implemented in because of lack of time, but will hopefully appear later.
6 was not implemented because we have planned to rework the rating system.

user friendliness?
The scene id code is used for posting onto the forums (as you may/should know...)
The last think you want if for a user to have to upload a scene in algodoo, than have to open his webbrowser to go get the code from algobox.
Adding the scene ID means it is easy to get the scene ID code
Even if you have to add a button to bring up a little popup window for some of these ideas, users will still find them useful!
Also, when do you plan to fix the button on between the two arrows (refresh button? well, im sure thats what it is....) ?
When asking for help, READ THE STICKIES!

Re: 1.9.5 Suggestions for integrated Algobox.
Algodoo already keeps track of the scene IDs (this is why you can upload a new version of a previously uploaded scene), but I totally forgot about embedding them in the forums. I guess a good place for the ID would be to the right of the "Save and publish"-button, and maybe a small "Copy to clipboard"-button would also be handy.
The refresh button has been fixed in the next version (and the other buttons have proper icons).

Hmm... my integrated algobox looks just like the one in my browser. Is this an error, or is it intended?

If that's the case, it's a bug.
Are you running Algodoo 1.9.5?
Could you please send me a message with the IP you are using to browser Algobox (within Algodoo), and the time you tried accessing Algobox (again, within Algodoo).
I can then look through the log file of the web server and see if Algodoo is sending the page request as it should.
Thanks!

Hmmm.. now it is back to normal, and I can't get to the forums within algodoo. However, I did post
this bug report with it while it glitched.

The forums was not planned to be available through Algodoo, but might make its way into Algodoo eventually.
So, is the bug you linked to fixed now?
I still can't seem to reproduce it myself and the log file is looking clean.

The bug I linked to is not fixed, algodoo still crashes every time I try to make a chain or use the new solver. I'll try to make a video of it, if that would help.

Yep, happens to me, too. Also, any more than 200 water particles will crash me.

We are discussing a thumbs up and down approach, but nothing is final yet, and it's difficult to say when it will be implemented.

No error message or any thing?
Nothing else suspicious that may cause this, that you can observe?

I can't say that's my favorite type of rating system, but I suppose it'll work better on here than YouTube.

I have no clue. I have a great graphics card (though I heard somewhere that ATI cards don't like Algodoo?) with fully updates drivers, along with 3 GB of RAM and a decent CPU, but it just crashes, giving me the Windows "Algodoo has stopped responding" box.

@Chonos- Same here. I have a decent graphics card (no shaders though) with the most up-to-date drivers, and when I try to make a chain, it crashes and gives me the "Do you want to send a message to microsoft" box. I was going to upload a video, but my browser all but stopped responding when I tried to add it as an attachment...

Could both of you view what the error report contains and attach the text here?
On XP there should be a "click here" text you can click like:
And on Windows 7 there should be a button like:
Thanks, we really need to fix this before the next beta release.

Re: 1.9.5 Suggestions for integrated Algobox.
Okay, error 'signature':
AppName: algodoo.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: agxsabre.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00005a6d
Because it would be all too convenient, microsoft won't let me select the actual text in the bug report... so I took some video of the beginning. Even if I could select it, it would probably exceed the 60000 character limit for posts here. So here's the video, I had to cram the video into a zip, then cram that zip into a 7z file, so you'll probably need 7zip to open it... 7zip (freeware) is very useful for opening .rar files, among other things...
Here is the video of me scrolling through the first part of the bug-report. If you slow it down a bit, it should be readable.

Actually, the interesting part is after all the modules, could you please record that and a couple of lines until all the Memory Range lines start (a some of them too)?
(I wonder why Microsoft didn't make the text copyable, seems to be the perfect place for it.)
We will otherwise have to find a way to reproduce the problem on one of our test computers.
What operating systems are you guys running, CPUs, memory?
Did Algodoo 1.9.4 work, but not Algodoo 1.9.5b?

Re: 1.9.5 Suggestions for integrated Algobox.
Well, I have Windows XP Home (32-bit) with 2gb RAM, and an AMD Radeon 9200 series graphics card. The hard-disk only has about 7 gb left (where the heck did all my space go??)
and it's running a Pentium 4, I think. I can test it on another PC, with newer-but-less-powerful (Read: has shaders, but less powerful card) specs.
1.9.4 didn't work (graphics card lacks shaders) and 1.9.5b works very well except for the new engine (direct solver).
I knew that was going to happen... I was going to record the whole thing until I realized just how much text it contained...
I'll upload the video in a couple of minutes.
Lemme guess... you're running out of graphics memory maybe? Or some kind of memory, in any case... I think.

Nope, because...
Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 4670 (1 GB DDR3 RAM)
3 GB of DDR2 system RAM
Intel Pentium dual core, 2.8 GHz
My OS is Vista Home Basic
Algodoo runs fine with 1.8.x, but 1.9.x has this problem.
It also does this with shaders disabled and 16-bit textures.
If you need any other information, Emanuel, just let me know.
