[1.9.4] +inf sim speed
Not sure if this is a bug or not...
But if you set the sim speed to +inf, the % realtime reads "-1.$"...

Re: [1.9.4] +inf sim speed
Wait... so if you set the sim speed to +inf, it does not deny but instead sets something weird to the percent realtime, which is a measure of lag?
Something weird as in
Does it really show a dollar sign?

Matthias Wandel is epic, in my humble opinion.

Re: [1.9.4] +inf sim speed
I copied and pasted it directly from the sim-info box. The bugs are: 1) It doesn't decline +inf, and 2) The % realtiime is some weird NaN (AKA "-1.$"). Theoretically, the % realtime should read 0, I think.

Re: [1.9.4] +inf sim speed
I think it allows +inf sim speed for running the sim as fast as possible without lagging too much.
Turns out this is the case. I made a scene that drops a lot of water onto a bunch of circles. I also made a motorized box off to the side that gives me an idea of lag versus sim speed. As soon as the water hits the circles, the box appears to slow down a lot. I also zoomed in and out constantly, to give me an idea of raw lag, which stayed constant.
I then modified the experiment a bit, exaggerating the change.
The lag stays pretty much constant, while the sim speed changes to keep it so.
Interesting find. Good job. And it does indeed give an odd % sim speed.

Re: [1.9.4] +inf sim speed
So you can get things done as fast as possible, I guess.
I think the lag is probably a lot worse on 1.8.5.
I suppose you could also try to weird people out by saving a scene with +inf speed and the SimInfo thing open.

True
The lag is actually okay in 1.8.5... I found it in 1.8.5 first, and then checked 1.9.4, where it was also present.
