[1.9.4] Circles, clouds, and menus all squares!
I've downloaded the newest edition of Algodoo, and I am very disappointed. All my scenes are screwed up! Anything that is a circle is now a square. The menu's are composed of blank squares. All clouds are squares. How can I fix this?? My Algodoo is completely screwed up!

I've edited the topic title "Newest Algodoo" into "[1.9.4]".

This is a know bug with the beta....
Your best option is to uograde your graphics drivers or wait till the bug has been fixed.

Or install it on a PC that has shaders, like I did; Algoryx (or more accurately, Emanuel) has said that it is related to shaders, so if your PC lacks them, it will look all square. They're working on a fix though.
So for now, I suggest you revert back to 1.8.5.

If you still have the old installer, use that and your lisence key, otherwise use the demo installer and your license key, and if you lack the key, I'm sure there is a "resend email" button somewhere. And be sure to re-install to a different directory, lest it over-write the 1.9.4 files and not work properly.

yeah, just run the 1.8.5 installer.
Your algodoo licence will be fine. You will/should not need to reactivate algodoo.

^ Okay. Man, I really hope they fix this. The new Algodoo looks good even without textures...

Now that I have downloaded the older one again, the simulation speed is a lot faster, and the menu is in the format of the new one. Some weird things have been happening on my computer lately... Shouldn't of got a Vista...

Yeah, that happened to me as well, when I reverted. Did you get the dialogue saying that "this scene was made with a newer version of algodoo!"? My guess is that even when you install to a different directory, algodoo still use the same files under My Docs (on Windows XP). So it is all (mostly) normal.

^Yes, that exact same message came up: "this scene was made with a newer version of algodoo!"

^Oh, another wierd thing from after I reverted, I made a spring engine chassis, with four gears and reverse, before I tried the new Algodoo, and then reverted. Now the engines' pistons eventually come out of the cylinder if you work the engine to hard. This never happened before.

Did you reset the config?

^ I think downloading Algodoo a second time would have reset it.

no.
The config file is stored in my documents.
When you upgrade/reinstall, the config file is not reset or deleted.
When upgrading, you generally dont need to reset config, but when downgrading you SHOULD ALWAYS RESET THE CONFIG!!!!
This is to stop a few slight problems that will occur unless reset.

This has been fixed in the next version, at least on all the computers we could test it on.
Loading textures has been made faster, but the problem was that older graphics cards expects a some what different behavior (rearranging one line of code was in the end all that was needed).
