[Help] Go back to 1.8.5

Postby Thooto » Thu May 19, 2011 6:51 pm

Hey, sorry if I didn't post this topic in the appropriate forum.

But I have a question : I am running Algodoo with 1.9.4 version, but for the moment it's only a beta with -I find- many bugs. So is it possible to turn back to 1.8.5?

I know this question is a little bit idiot but I wouldn't lose my Algodoo with a stupid bug... ;)

Thanks!

Yeah, it is possible, if you still have the installer. Just install to a different directory to keep both versions.

The same thing happened to me, so don't feel bad.

As much as I like Phun/Algodoo I hate to say it but 1.9.4 has to be the worst Phun/Algodoo release ever (maybe its just me).

For all the anticipation that I had, it was a bit of a let-down. But on the optimistic side, thrusters & new chains could lead to a revolution in scene-making. On the pessimistic side, thrusters & new ropes enable people to slap a thruster on I box and call it a rocket, post it on the algobox and annoy everyone. I personally think that there should be an option to go from the "beginner" gui to the regular/"advanced" 1.8.5 gui that we all know and love (well, mostly). This would fulfill Algoryx's CTQ of the product being friendly to beginners/educators/children, but also fulfill their community's wishes.

>But I digress.

Thooto, if you don't have the installer, use the demo installer and unlock it with your license key. If you don't have the e-mail with the key in it, I'm sure that there is a resend button somewhere.

Yes I registered in, and I have the full version of Algodoo.

So thanks for your answer!
