Hi everyone, some weeks ago the awsome game portal 2 was realesed and the turrets are equally awesome
( don't u agree) so I will put up this contest to see if there is any good enginers that might make an awsome turret.Image

The rules are none exept that it is an portal turret that you post for the contest and not something else, the most awsome turret will win of course, can't really decide what the points will be set in criterias, but functionallity and the look will be the big criterias that will give most points, size, use of scripts, material statistics and other stuff will be less important, if it works well in phun and algoodo thats a big plus too. I will check on the scene as often as i can.

Added one rule more, don't copy someone else's work( and by that i don't mean "someone else's" profile) or your earlier works!

The contest is just for fun, and to leran from you how you use mechanics and script. a portal turret have a number of actions that it preform when it sees an target.

I don't have a base scene so just post your entries with title "portal turret entry" so i can find them, or just post them in this forum. Btw how do you post a scene in forum??

In a way, I kind of like this sort of fail contest, so I can be the only one to make an entry so I win automatically.

I plan to make a self-aiming fully-automatic Thyme cannon.
The aiming mechanism will be based off a collaborative idea between myself and TC42,
the gun mechanics will be based off a Thyme cannon I made for another contest,
a rocket I made for a very recent contest,
a Thyme cannon I made for Ravenplucker,
and a Thymechanical cannon made by davidz40 for the modular spaceship collab.
Matthias Wandel is epic, in my humble opinion.
I love my brain...

The aiming and triggering will be closely based off your object pointer (but phunlet-safe),
The gun itself will work a lot like a restitution-based script gun I made a while ago,
but will use some velocity code from my spawn rocket,
it will also be enhanced by density code in a machine gun I made for Ravenplucker,
and will have bullets and collideSet code from davidz40's Thymechanical cannon for the aforementioned collab.

I will also call it the Platypus, for the simple and hopefully obvious reason that its structure is a complete and utter mash-up.
