Okay, I think I found it:
- Total Available Graphics Memory = 1534 MB
- Dedicated Video Memory = 384 MB

Is this enough memory do you think?

i suggest you turn it up to 512mb

As i say, i dont know the exact cause of the problem, but i have a feeling that this is what is causing the problem

I think it's at it's highest. Does that mean that me and others will have to buy a graphics card just to go on algodoo?

if it has, it means that some will just need to turn up dedicated ram.

yet, if it does work or not, Others will more than likely need to upgrade there graphics cards, which can be done for low cost nowadays. The bad news is for those with laptops that dont work from switching dedicated ram up...

I'll have to try it on my PC.. but algodoo should run on all systems regardless of graphics power. So this is, algodoo developers, still one heckuva bug.

it appears the problem has something to do with the way QT handles textures.

Which i agree, this problem needs sorting out, even if a fallback rendering system is needed; otherwise schools are less likely to purchase the product, due to the fact they dont really have much money or time to upgrade ~20+ computers.


And my suggestion would be to check that 1.9.4 runs on a classmate... If not you may have a few problems with even more angry customers...

I fixed the problem I had that kept 1.9.4 from opening and now I have this problem, all buttons are white boxes and everything written in a language I cant read.

Has anyone found a fix for the no textures bug to change the blank white buttons so we can tell what each one does?

I downloaded a different driver, uninstalled and reinstalled for the 4th time and it finally worked.

It is caused by the GFX cards [and possibly outdated/improperly installed drivers] support for shaders
(see the offical release thread)

It cost 40gbp (uk pounds off amazon). Quite a decent card for its price

I suggest that you just downgrade back to 1.8.5...
Some newer scenes on algobox may not work, but until a fix is released, there is no point having 1.9.4
