uninstall and reinstall?

Yup I reinstalled twice. My laptop has been on an off a few times and that didn't work. Turned off apache and that didn't work. Also downloaded the setup exe a few times and that didn't work.
I'm on windows 7. Even my water is square!

I got the same issue... any time I try to do anything, it crashes!

hm, at first did you do a fresh install or an upgrade install?
also, if your in windows 7/vista try installing algodoo to a different directory (e.g. C:/games/algodoo)
(might be some stupid file access bug caused by uac and file protection crap...)

I did an upgrade and then uninstall then fresh install an it still didn't work but I will try installing in another directory.

looks like best option is to wait for a word from algoryx...
I think that the setup file might be a bit dodgy... Ags131 tried to download the setup file but it was corrupted so he had to redownload.
Not sure if it worked as i had to go.
Best advise from is, try redownloading now that server stress is lower (not many people upgrading)

The reason that everything is squared is because Algodoo can't find any textures.
Could you try deleting the config.cfg file located in Documents/Algodoo?
If that doesn't work, please post you Logfile.txt, also located in Documents/Algodoo.

I've also tried downloading today and installing but the same thing happens even when I install it to another directory ("Program Files/Algodoo1/").

My graphics card isn't very new, it's an AMD Radeon 9200 (drivers are up to date), if that helps any. But algodoo should run on all system requirements. I shouldn't have to update my PC's hardware to run algodoo.

hm, well... Atleast thats one potential problem ruled out.
My current pc has a embeded graphics card which is no longer in use with a pcie one (ati radeon 5450)(embeded one is a intel G31(you will be amazed its specs...)). If i get around to it, I will try running Algodoo off the embeded card to see if this cause the problem.

i tested algodoo on a G31 integrated GPU, the results are,

I have a few suspicions on this,
my main suspicion is that your GPUs do not have enough ram to handle the textures or do not support a feature that is needed by QT

I can load all the most png's shipped with algodoo, but my own custom materials aren't loaded,
when i press find texture, at the object apearance menu, it shows some png's, but others don't work, same as the jpg's
i hope to see this fixed

in all honesty, i dont know.
i take it this is the GPU inside your laptop.
My suggestion is that you turn the amount of ram allocated to it to 512MB(in laptops BIOS).
i dont really know what is actually causing this,
for example, i dont know if it is low ram, or if QT needs a certian function on the card to use the textures.

nope.
When you first turn on your pc it will let you push a key to enter the bios setup.
This is usually del, or esc but depends upon the bios.
In there will be a option so change the amount of ram allocated to the video card

I pressed ESC on start-up and went to BIOS and the setting wasn't there. Where can I find out the current amount of RAM allocated?
