1.9.4 Reset glitch et al
I got the same square-clouds/menus/no textures issue as others, so I pressed the reset button, and when algodoo came back up, it was not in english; when I start it up it never starts in english.
I drew a chain and pressed the start sim button, and algodoo crashed.
Also, it seems to have replaced my nice, mostly bug-free 1.8.5 Algodoo with 1.9.4... How do I get 1.8.5 back, without losing 1.9.4?
I drew a box, cut it diagonally with the knife tool, and tried to drag it. Algodoo crashed again. I'm starting to feel sorry for the logfile...
I made a shape with the circle tool. It looked like a white square, but acted like a circle.
Anything with a texture crashes algodoo when you start the sim/
I made a box, and put some springs on it. When I moved the endpoint of the spring off the box, the spring auto-deleted, even though the sim was stopped.
Clicking on an object with the "axle tool" causes crashes.
OS: Win XP SP2 or 3 (I forget which)
The logfile is too large to fit in the post box (93446 characters of 60000 max allowed), so here's the file itself:
The other logfile stops responding if I try to open it.

Re: 1.9.4 Reset glitch et al
the method i use to use an older version of algodoo while keeping a newer version installed is simple...
INSTALL TO A DIFFERENT DIRECTORY!
Also, could you check in your current algodoo install for the missing textures and stuff?
Also, it seams that swedish is default language in 1.9.4, (most likely due to the algodoo scheme in sweden (mainly umea.. I think)) just change language using file menu (its the only one with a sub-menu...)
And i dont see why everybody is having problems with the textures... My update install worked fine.

I used a different directory (installed to program files/Algodoo194 not progam files/Algodoo), and all the textures are there. It still doesn't work.

I just thought of something... do I need Service Pack 3? I just found that I currently have SP2.
Sorry for the double post.

Are you sure you are running 1.9.4? The logfile states that you are running with the 1.8.5 executable.
Please post a new logfile if you manage to start 1.9.4 instead.

You are right, the default language seems to be swedish, it will be fixed, thanks!
As electronicboy mentioned, the best way is to install the beta to a new directory.

Oops! Sorry
I uninstalled both algodoos, and moved the algodoo files under "Program" and "My Documents" to desktop. Then I reinstalled 1.9.4 only. Here is the correct logfile that I got when I opened it. It seems to be missing Svenska translation?

Re: 1.9.4 Reset glitch et al
I have a feeling that algodoo isnt reading from the proper directory...
there should be nothing wrong with swedish(svenska) translation file.
the scene it tries to load is a default scene and thus, is created on install, which it is unable to find.

Directory as in from Program files or My docs? Because I moved the directory from there so that the installer could install the correct one. I'll try it again. Is there anyway to disable the translation?

try to edit config.cfg to add the correct language cfg.
And from the looks of it, it is the program files one.
