1.8.5 Laser color bug

Postby Kilinich » Fri Apr 22, 2011 2:53 pm

Laser with color [1, 0.002, 0.001, 1] is fine red, but [1, 0.001, 0.002, 1] is invisible. Why?

I think its cause floats might not be allowed in RGB to HSVA conversion. You may try without floats.

Oh, floats are certainly allowed. If you make a box, go into its script menu, and look at the color variable, you will notice that the color is all floats.

And I know exactly why!
Either it's an Easter egg,
or it's a bug!

Recently, I discovered something a lot of you probably already knew: Minecraft is awesome.
Due to this, I may not be as active as usual for a while.

I've realized. This must be intended. :D
Infrared and ultraviolet are invisible.

I think [1, 0.001, 0.002, 1] is infrared for Algodoo.

Yes. I'm not talking about joke. ;)

Tatt is correct, this is indeed a feature. I makes most sense if you slide the Hue of the laser to the right.
When the wavelength is above violet, it start to become more and more invisible to the naked eye.

I don't see any practical reason for that, it's not really a laser (laser is monochromatic), it's a light source. So why you need to make it unreal not-smooth became invisible?

It can be a laser. Please google "white laser". ;)
