Random Algodoo Crashes

Working on my Le Rhone rotary piston engine (an extremely complex and precise scene to be making) and on at least 3 occasions Algodoo has randomly crashed and I have lost 50% of my progress.

I get that it's a big file (700+ objects, textures), but this is totally ridiculous.

This doesn't just happen on this scene, it is crashing maybe once a week on general scenes.

If this happens one more time, I may revert back to Phun. This is simply pissing me off.

So, a message to Algoryx: get your act together, or you lose a loyal customer.

Does Algodoo just crash or do you get any kind of error message?

Could you please post the last ~50 lines of your Logfile.txt (located in My Documents/Algodoo/ on Windows)?

It comes up: Algodoo has stopped working - Windows is checking for a solution..." And then it says it can't fine one, and gives me only one option - to close it.

The Logfile is just random codes ... I think I'll just wait until 1.9.0 with faster processing comes out.

It sounds like there's a bug somewhere, and we can't fix it if we don't know what caused it.

The Logfile is something we developers can read to find out where the problem is and it would really help if you could post the last ~50 lines.

Emanuel, in wiki/bugs at least 4 reason can cause app crash, maybe it's the one of those.
Dream of Algodoo as game development engine...

Emanuel, in wiki/bugs at least 4 reason can cause app crash, maybe it's the one of those.

I think I just pushed it too hard. I had other programs running, I had 2000 X 2000 textures and over 800 objects. It simply couldn't handle it.

Thanks, the question is then if Dare did anything that cause the crash bugs?

That is possible, but you should still get a more informative message if Algodoo runs out of memory, so something is not as it should.

This is something like Out Of Memory (we think), but somehow different.
Maybe you, Dare, are experiencing something similar?

Yep, I've had that problem too. I didn't say anything though. I tried to save my scene and it came up with that message, and I couldn't save. It was worrying that that came up, after the other problems I've had. I hope they get this all fixed up for the next version.

I've never had the problem I linked to.
For some odd reason, it just popped into my head that somehow, you might've somehow corrupted your config. Did you try deleting it?
