Re: export as dxf file
What exactly IS a .dxf file, and why would you need to export a scene as it?

Re: export and import as dxf file
Hi Sonic
a .dxf file is a autocad file, the reason is that a mechanism could be designed in algodoo and tried and tested and then when exported as a dxf file so it could be used in a 2d or 3d cad package to anable the mechanism to be made from the prototype.
also it would be good if a .dxf file could be imported so that cad designs could be tested in algodoo

It wouldn't work. Phun isn't 3-D, and it would be very difficult and restricting to code it to make the two programs compatable

I realise it isn't 3d, I would like to export the scene as a 2d dxf file that can be used in cad programs. this can't be that hard, I assume the shapes uses in algodoo are vector files as they have the technology for contacts?

I'm not a programmer so I can't answer that.

Well Algodoo does use vectors (I think. Otherwise, Svg2Phn wouldn't work) so I don't see why it would be impossible. I just don't know who else would actually use this, other than you.

Re: export as dxf file
i really doubt they wiill do it, mainly because not many people will use it, as chronos snook in before me,
And they will have to check whether the way the .dfx files work is copyrighted, which it proberbly is.
