No limit for density? How you can judge strength then?
Can it be hinged to background? To ground?
All parts must fit in box or every part?

Can we use Geom controller?
Oncollide scripting?
How do we put it in place? Must it start out in the starting box thingamabob?
Can we call in air-support to drop a massive Paradigm/Conundrumer/Kilinich-like contraption that unfolds mid-air and then sticks to the gap with +inf friction and +inf airfrictionmult?
Also, by hinges do you mean hinge-tool hinges or ball-and-socket-hand-made-fancy-hinges?

Yes, I am trying to find every loophole I can :D

4kg is mass not density.
please think about rules a little more next time...

Waaaaaay too easy.
[scene]52147[/scene]
There are no predetermined velocities, just 4 stretched hinges, 2 polygons, and a box. Oh and a little bit of scripting to give it more friction.
Simplest solution wins?
It only starts to fail under 1000 kilograms :D

I added (2) new responses to the contest. They are dated the 27th, but it is still the 26th here.

I have a bridge that supports >30000kg. Pwned. You want me to post it, or should I keep it fair?

Yes post it. I'm interested in seeing how you can make a bridge that hold 30000 kg. Yours is definitely stronger. But the one I just posted as a scene response (Bridge Response 6) is faster. I thought that the remote hinges that I used would be a lot stronger, that' why I was talking tough earlier, now I'm not so sure. :?

Just made "Bridge Response 6 stronger." Now holds 1000 kg. Will that be strong enough? Still waiting to see TC42's 30000 kg bridge.

Tadaaaaaaaa!
[scene]52196[/scene]
Oh heck yes. :D
It is extremely strong, but doesn't really self-assemble quickly... I was going to make a massive sequenced self-construction bridge, until I remembered that we're only allowed 5 hinges.

Nicely done TC42. I had initially tried inertiamultiplier but it didn't work for me because my bridge parts were rotating. I didn't change the friction because the wheels have such low friction I thought that the lower friction would prevail. I did notice that the airfrictionmultiplier helped dampen out oscillation and provided greater load capacity. I did not copy your property changes, but when you said that you bridge could hold 30000 kg, I did try a little harder. Glad to see you didn't change sim.cableMiliatryConstraint, because that would probably be considered changing the scene.

Not sure if the contest is closed yet, but if it isn't, then give my "bridge response 3" to antoine31, since it is basically an improvement to his design. That way, if its decided that moving the bounding box is disqualified because it is a template scene modification, then antoine31 has a good chance of wining.
