Algodoo Related Question for All Users
I plan on making a Condensed Tutorial over the next few weeks. I plan on making the tutorial very thorough, but it would help if I knew what areas to spend more time on and what is already intuitive. The more answers I get, the better I can make the tutorial.
What is something that you had trouble learning how to do in Algodoo or Phun?
What is something that you still want to learn how to do in Algodoo or Phun?
I'd like it if you could state what you consider yourself as well (new user), (experienced user).
Thankyou

Re: Algodoo Related Question for All Users
It is very difficult to decide what should be introduced in tutorial because Algodoo has a lot of features. However, I'll try to consider it.
They below had better be in tutorial for beginner.
I consider myself as experienced user, btw.
They below had better be in tutorial for beginner.
- What are "Simple mode", "Medium mode" and "Advanced mode"?
- The deference between "move tool" and "drag tool".
- The ways to select objects.
- The ways to delete objects.
- The way to copy objects by CTRL-dragging.
- The way to scale objects perfectly twice size.
- When rotating objects, how can I get automatic 15 degrees snapping?
- Can I rotate objects by 10 degrees? -> No (At least with Algodoo 1.6.0). You can rotate objects with 15 degrees or sequentially.Yes, you can. If you set the number of axises to 18, it snaps every 10 degrees. A bit difficult to see the degrees number though.(Thank you, Conundrumer)
- How to turn off the clouds.
- How to measure length of objects. -> There are some ways to measure them. (ex. By using ruler or spring length).
- What is phunlet?
- What is CSG? (It might be low priority)
I consider myself as experienced user, btw.

Hi, Algodoo lovers. Have you read next topic? Featured scenes suggestions
To translators: English.cfg changelog will be useful (even for me).

Guess I'll help too. I'm good at writing tutorials. Just tell me what you want me to do.

Re: Algodoo Related Question for All Users
Useful mechanical structures, Good Texturing, Notable hints, Online scene making tips and Performance enhancing (ways to reduce lag)
I found it hard to learn thyme mostly since thyme was fairly alien when i tried to learn it now since most of the forums has some thyme knowledge.
The only things i want to learn is how to do the advanced thyme with the Extreme Math and over complicated scripts.

I can do performance enhancements. I already have a script developed just for that. I'll need to adapt it for Algodoo though.

Well answering the questions would help a lot. The more people that answer, the clearer it becomes.

Re: Algodoo Related Question for All Users
Well, we love tutorials! We will be handing out some wiki accounts for this too. It might also be that we open a sandbox wiki that runs in parallell and is completely open, and when content reaches a pretty good level, it can quite easily be exported and imported into the live Algodoo wiki. We thought we would be able to administrate something like this inside the main wiki, but it turns out that MediaWiki user rights is pretty messy for such things and it becomes very sensitive to vandalism.

Re: Algodoo Related Question for All Users
I remember I wanted to make a tutorial for extreme Phun engineering (bypassing and exploiting various glitches and bugs), remember that lesson about contacts being important?
if you increase the number of grid axises, you can snap to various angles.

I'd love to see alot more to do with thrusters on missles ect, i always have trouble getting things off the ground without a great deal of lag.

When you fiddle in the Script Menu, you have to press enter after doing the input, unlike other things such as changing the density by hand.
You should mention that, I didn't know that at first, so it prevented me from using Thyme

I am currently only using Phun 5.28 and not Algodoo. I would annoy the people on the Phun Forum and not here, but the Forum refused new registrations when I looked the last time.

Re: Algodoo Related Question for All Users
How about getting box/circle lengths right for mechanical contraptions. I used to have to trial-and-error it before I understood the principles of pistons and circles. Also, sequencing. just the basics with a few examples. And the structure and basic syntax of thyme. also a link to the complete list of thyme commands
God is most often conceived of as the supernatural creator and overseer of the universe.
By this logic Emil is the Thyme God for several reasons
1)...Created Thyme
2)...Bug fixes Thyme
3)...Is awesome.
Grady is more like Cyborg Super Ninja, so yeah i guess you could call him a God
