Real Time Destruction

Postby crytek » Tue Dec 21, 2010 8:48 am

Who can make the best destroyable model?

Goal: Build the best destroyable structure.

Rules:
1. Can only have 2 CollideSets (A and B)
2. No Invisible or Partly Invisible objects (Unless you are using that for windows)
3. Must be 100% made by you (Can not have anything in the scene made by another user)
4. Your structure must be something that you have not yet uploaded
5. Winner will be chosen by the "best structure" and "least lag"

Contest Expires on Christmas Day. On or After Christmas, I will choose the winner.

the 100% realtime rule might be abit unfair.
The realtime can be affected by programs running in the background as well as the spec's of your pc.

Take the clock competition that was done a few months ago, bronies entry ran 100% realtime on his, but only hit 10% realtime on my old computer.
When asking for help, READ THE STICKIES!

I modified the real time rule a bit.

I did use all the collisions (except "F") on the grey boxes but you can change that into just collideSet = 1 (A)

Sorry I'm a litte late

The car on the far left is my first attempt at this style of destructible car.
This style is basically the frame is a truss with lots of hinges.
The car in the middle is my second attempt, and also the frame on-
The car on the right (in the thumbnail) is my third attempt- the second car with a bunch of boxes hinged to it.

The frame collides on B, the wheels and body on A.

P.S. Weird. This is scene number 50005.
Matthias Wandel is epic, in my humble opinion.
I love my brain...

Recently, I discovered something a lot of you probably already knew: Minecraft is awesome.
Due to this, I may not be as active as usual for a while.

You can be late for a contest that didn't even start?
Millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. Something terrible has happened.
