well, I didn't join because it just wasn't interesting to me. Try making more mainstream contests.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to make this work beyond making some complicated machine with lots of moving parts, Thyme spawners, breakable hinges, and an ungodly amount of lag.
Sory man, this was a bad idea for a contest.
I do stuff and break things. You know how it is.

Actually, I think it's a good idea. It's challenging and has nice guidelines, thought I do think the rules are kind of strict/hard. ;)

How is this a good idea? It's a machine thats practically impossible for anyone besides Paradigm to make.

should obey all rules. Parts joined by script, but not directly (the link is physical collision). script only at needle.

The auto feed has scripting, but i wasn't goint to take it out to make it comply, the machine can run without it. Otherwise, it should be good.

nice machine, not quite what I was expecting, but good nonetheless

Speed - 20 - 12 - Not overly fast, but we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves
Strength of join - 20 - 15 - good, but is hard to join more than 3 holes
Quality (are there parts skipped over or not joined properly?) - 10 - 5 - You can only make one join, but join is strong
Size of objects the Cloth can hold - 10 - 10
BONUSES
No thyme - 10
Only one motor - 20 - 20
Water proof cloth - 20 - 20
Cloth is only a chain - 10

Total : 82/120

NB: I was expecting it to be like two chains are overlaid, then joined together by another chain "thread"
If anyone does that, they'll get a bonus of 30

Sorry davidz, didn't have time to post your grades.

Speed - 20 - 10
Strength of join - 20 - 12
Quality (are there parts skipped over or not joined properly?) - 10 - 6
Size of objects the Cloth can hold - 10 - 10
BONUSES
No thyme - 10
Only one motor - 20 - 20
Water proof cloth - 20
Cloth is only a chain - 10

NB: I edited your cloth so it was longer (more segements), it still worked just as well btw

I think that actually water proof clotch should collide with water to stop it from passing through?
(No, I don't say this to get additional 20 points and substract 20 points from Versieon's entry  )

waterproof means that it can stop water getting through the cloth

So my cloth IS water proof. (I just tested it to ensure - join can resist up to 3 meters high column of water before starting to leak)

... Ok, seriously?! Can you not fucking read the post dates?! This topic was last posted in almost a year ago. Don't do this again.

Though, I do have to admit, that sewing machine is pretty sweet.

Don't worry, indeed I fucking read the post date. But do I care ? The contests are always good for getting neat ideas for making things, so why not just post my result as well?

I'm very sorry to see my first post to this forum is replied to in a hostile and patronizing way, I just hope your social skills are not representative for the Algodoo-community as a whole. (If your post was ment to be ironic, I apologize for missing that)

My post is not representative to anyone, including myself. I'm normally a friendly guy. I just get really annoyed when people can't do simple things, like knowing not to bump a topic a year old. Sure, contests are great for getting ideas, but you didn't have to post it here. You could've posted it in the section meant for that. I would like to apologize for snapping like that, but I just get annoyed by very simple things.

And hey, now you know!
