post count restriction
Through experience in the old forum, lots of stupid contest have appeared in the contest section, mostly by people who never posted before. Same goes for the suggestions forum. I would like to see a post count restriction, where the user must have a certain post count before posting in those two sections. Also, make the post count in the living room not count.

Re: post count restriction
I agree. At least ten (as in a minimum on the restriction; perhaps as high as twenty-five would be good) for the suggestions forum, and at least twenty for the contests forum. To start a new thread, that is. Wouldn't want to accidentally keep noobs from showing off their stuff or talking about the suggestions more experienced people have made.
Made some cool stuff a long time ago

Re: post count restriction
How about just scrapping post count, and the elitism that follows it?

If this suggestion was shown through, how would i post a suggestion or a bug report, seeing as though this is my second post....

I think it should be 15 for contests and suggestions.

I like Arinlares suggestion... however, it would still leave the problems of new forum members spamming contests.

Re: post count restriction
So therefore, we should impose a restriction, to prevent spam. There is no elitism about it, just a wish for a less spammed forum.

Re: post count restriction
I agree with this.
I also think we need to get some basic contests up and on the go so theres no need for new users to make simple ones without understanding how the rules are.
The general stuff, offroad, load carrying, etc. someone should get going on that! (i cant be bothered yet lol...)

Re: post count restriction
How about just making some rules for the contest forum? I.e. it must have a starting scene, a clear set of rules, etc.

Maybe before posting a contest, it needs to get approved first by a moderator/admin. Sound good?
Also, viewtopic.php?f=15&t=336

Sounds like we'll need some contest moderators for that.

Well, I suppose, since other mods are probably going to be busy with the other forums.
And btw, your img code is missing a '/'.

Re: post count restriction
ofcourse there could be some kind of a template for contest? so that every time you post an contest it would force you to fill in certain fields, scoring, starting scene, etc! I think it could work..maybe..
