[Fixed]1.7.8 Velocity set bug

Postby Kilinich » Tue Sep 07, 2010 1:25 pm

This bug was fixed at v1.8!
This bug was seen with v1.6 - v1.7.8.

1.7.8
Reported before, I've just found simple case:

If you try set speed to -20 m/s it simply turn into 20 m/s without changing angle. So on big scene this part go incorrect way.

The speed of an object is the magnitude of its velocity vector. The slowest speed is 0. Negative speeds are nonsensical. You can set a negative velocity along an axis, but that's still a positive speed.

Edit: I just realized Algodoo is a bit inconsistent here though. I'll fix that.

You get me wrong.

If you try set negative speed for single object - result will be positive speed and -180deg angle.
But for that particular group anngle still 0 so some part of scene will go to the left and some to the right.

Yeah, that's the inconsistent bit. It works differently depending on if the number of geometries glued together as a single body is an even or an odd number.
